Zen Vergara is a children’s book author whose vibrant Afro-Filipino heritage and frequent childhood travels to the Philippines profoundly shape her storytelling. Vergara’s passion for exploring the rich intersections of food, art, and sports, and how they forge and strengthen community ties led her to create Mabuhay Morenx Tales, a children’s book series. Her stories bubble with diverse perspectives, inspired by her travels, dual citizenship and the collaborative and loving spirit modeled by her family. Vergara’s books aim to entertain young minds and cultivate an appreciation for cultural diversity and the beauty of working together.

Lauren Berina (L.B.) is a writer and editor who brings joy and inspiration to every page.
