but his resilience leads him to find new friends, parental acceptance and love,
and three new families.
About the Author
Charlene V. Moore retired from the Los Angeles Unifi ed School District as a Special Education Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She taught grades Pre-K through 12, focusing on General Education as well as American Sign Language (ASL) to enhance her students‛ communications skills. To this end, she also voluntarily taught ASL to her students‛ parents. Motivated by her experiences to seek the inclusion and acceptance of her students, Charlene conceived the idea of “Homer,” subsequently, “The Adventures of Homer” series. Charlene has a background in freelance writing for a Hollywood celebrity magazine and script writing for television. Currently, she is working on sequels to The Adventures of Homer, with Be My Friend as the first in the series. She is also working on a compilation book of her grandmother‛s poetry. Charlene is a mother and grandmother residing in Houston, Texas.
Eleanor “C-PASS” Jones is the brand and stage name of Eleanor Jones, motivational speaker, performing singer-songwriter, visual artist, and published author. Although The Adventures of Homer—Be My Friend is her first children‛s book, Eleanor has published a three-volume fictional work (the LIV series, Volumes I – III, and a coffee table nonfiction book, How to Say No Without Saying ‘No. She has several other projects in progress, including sequels to Homer and other fiction and nonfiction works that include volumes of short stories. Married with children, grands, and greats, Eleanor resides in Los Angeles.
