About the Author

Melanie Lightbourn-Rowe is a single parent, educator, writer, public speaker, and entrepreneur. She is the winner of the 2012-2013 California Regional League of Middle Schools Teacher of the Year Award and the 2013 California League of Middle Schools State Educator of the Year Award. She is passionate about working with students that hail from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. 

Author of Things I Wish You Knew; Melanie’s heart is to help heal the brokenness of fatherless sons and daughters through her work. She is a mother to two amazing teen boys, Sean and Corey, and resides in the city of Santa Clarita, California.
