Fudgesicle is a colorful, positive story of a young girl’s introduction to a chocolate-flavored
Bermuda fudgesicle. Together, Novi and her mom discover how different fudgesicles can be
compared to various brown skin tones, including her own. During their day’s journey, Novi
experiences disappointment and joy and learns self-awareness, self-image, and self-confidence
lessons. Like Novi, no matter your life experiences, there’s always a fudgesicle delight in you. This
beautifully illustrated book includes a blank coloring page so readers can color Novi and a sticker
page of art featured in the story.

About the Author

Tinee Furbert is a Bermudian author and occupational therapist. She has a passion for children’s literature. Tinee remembers as a child calling into Bermuda Youth Library’s “Dial-A-Story” to listen to bedtime stories every night. It was only fitting that she would set out on a journey of writing a children’s book. She recognizes the power of storytelling to empower black and brown girls and women to be their best whole selves. When Tinee is not advocating for young exceptional people and seniors, she enjoys traveling, food tasting, and spending time with loved ones. She lives and works in Bermuda with her family and her fur baby, Remy Ma.
