About the Author

Ms. Owens is a native of New York City. She was raised in the Amsterdam Houses in Manhattan along with her father, mother, and four siblings. Ms. Owens is also the mother of three children and grandmother of five. Her inspiration for writing children’s books came from the affection she has for her children and grandchildren. Ms. Owens has also drawn inspiration from her husband of 22 years.

She encourages children of every religion, ethnic, and social background that you can achieve anything in life if you put your heart, mind, and soul into it. She also encourages children to place God first, and to believe in yourself even when nobody else does, because “if there’s a will there’s always away.”
