About the Author

Nicole Cervantes, M.S.W. is a retired children’s social worker from the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services. She holds a Masters of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. 

She is currently a professor at California State University Northridge. Nicole and her husband, Anthony reside in Santa Clarita, California with their adult son, Isaiah; their three-year-old daughter, Gabriella; two dogs, Lucky and Frieda; and cat, Reese.
